Assets Tab Overview
Monitor real-time machine performance, track utilization and OEE, and gain instant visibility into your production floor.

Overview
The Assets Tab is the central command center for monitoring and analyzing your manufacturing operations in real-time. This is where you gain instant visibility into machine performance, utilization, downtime events, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) across your entire production floor.
Whether you manage a single machine or hundreds of assets across multiple facilities, the Assets Tab provides the real-time insights and analytics needed to maximize productivity, minimize losses, and drive continuous improvement.
What Can You Do in the Assets Tab?
The Assets Tab combines five powerful views, each designed for specific analytical and operational needs:
1. Overview
Your real-time dashboard showing live machine status, performance metrics, and key indicators. Perfect for at-a-glance monitoring and quick decision-making.
2. Downtimes
Deep-dive root cause analysis to identify why machines stop and where time is being lost. Use Pareto analysis to focus improvement efforts on the biggest opportunities.
3. Advanced Report
Generate comprehensive utilization and performance reports with advanced filtering by machine, department, shift, date range, and time interval.
4. Operator Performance
Track individual operator efficiency, OEE, and performance metrics to identify top performers and training opportunities.
5. Canvas
Visualize your production floor with custom layouts showing machine relationships, production flows, and real-time status in an interactive diagram.
Key Metrics Explained
The Assets Tab displays four primary metrics across your operation:
Uptime
What it measures: The total time machines have been actively running and producing parts.
Why it matters: High uptime indicates efficient operations with minimal interruptions. This is the productive time that drives your manufacturing output.
Displayed as: Hours and minutes (e.g., 71:15h)
Utilization
What it measures: The percentage of scheduled time that machines were actively producing, calculated as:
Utilization = (Uptime / Scheduled Time) × 100%
Why it matters: Utilization shows how effectively you're using available production capacity. A 68.2% utilization means machines were productive 68.2% of the scheduled shift time, with the remaining 31.8% lost to downtime and idle periods.
Displayed as: Percentage (e.g., 68.2%)
Color coding:
- Green: Meeting or exceeding your OEE/utilization goals
- Orange: Below goals but above critical threshold
- Red: Significantly below goals (requires attention)
Downtime
What it measures: The total time machines were stopped and not producing, whether planned (breaks, changeovers) or unplanned (failures, material shortage).
Why it matters: Downtime represents lost production capacity. By analyzing downtime reasons, you can identify improvement opportunities and reduce losses.
Displayed as: Hours and minutes (e.g., 33:14h)
Machines Producing
What it measures: The current count of machines actively running versus the total number of monitored machines.
Why it matters: Provides instant visibility into current production activity. Helps you quickly identify if machines are unexpectedly stopped.
Displayed as: Ratio (e.g., 9/14 means 9 out of 14 machines are currently producing)
Machine Status Timeline
Each machine row displays a detailed timeline showing machine state throughout the shift:
Timeline Colors
- Green: Machine running and producing
- Red: Machine down or stopped
- Orange: Machine idle (transitioning between states)
What You Can See
- Cycle time for current operation
- Production rate (ops/min)
- Current part/operation being produced
- Part count for the current shift
- Utilization percentage with color-coded indicator
- Real-time uptime and downtime hours
Interactive Features

Filtering and Customization
Filter by Department
Group and filter machines by department to focus on specific areas of your operation. Perfect for departmental managers and supervisors.
Filter by Tag
Create custom tags (e.g., "CNC Machines", "Critical Assets", "New Equipment") and filter the view to show only relevant machines.
Group By
Organize your asset view by:
- Department: See all machines within each department
- Tag: Group machines by custom labels
- Machine Type: Group similar equipment together
Sort By
Sort machines by various criteria:
- Department name
- Machine name
- Utilization (highest to lowest)
- Uptime (highest to lowest)
- Current status (running vs. stopped)
Shift Selection
View data for any defined shift (e.g., Day Shift, Night Shift, Weekend Shift) to compare performance across different work periods and teams.
Date Range
Navigate to any previous date to analyze historical performance and track improvement trends over time.
Zoom and Time Interval Views
Adjust the timeline zoom level to analyze different time horizons:
- Day: Hourly view showing detailed machine activity throughout a single shift or day
- Week: Daily breakdown showing patterns and variations across the work week
- Month: Weekly summaries to identify longer-term trends
- All: Full historical view for comprehensive trend analysis
Display Options
View Modes
Switch between different visualizations:
- Full Grid View: See all machine details and timelines
- Card View: Compact cards showing key metrics per machine
- List View: Dense table format for maximum information density
- Timeline View: Focus on machine state timelines with minimal distractions
Chart View
Toggle the top summary chart to show:
- Organization-wide utilization trend
- Cumulative uptime and downtime
- Production output over time
