Fiix alternatives, compared from each vendor’s own pages
Five options for maintenance teams weighing Fiix, scored on what your team cares about, starting with how machine data reaches the work order. Every rating rests on the company’s own published facts.
Filters drawn from each company’s ratings below, from its own published facts.
The short answer
Which alternative fits your team? Start with how machine data gets in.
- 01
Machine data without a PLC project?
Both put their own sensors on the machine.[22] Fiix’s FactoryTalk Optix reads PLC tags from an on-site industrial PC, on Enterprise.[3]
Best fit
IoTFlowsUpKeepUpKeep - 02
Uptime and OEE beside the work orders?
Both track OEE on the floor.[36] Fiix’s pages show no OEE, and downtime is set by hand in the app.[1],[4]
Best fit

Condition triggers without Enterprise?
Both open work orders from their own sensors.[19] Fiix’s condition-based triggers are an Enterprise feature.[1]
Best fit
IoTFlowsUpKeepUpKeep - 04
Machine health without a second vendor?
Both read condition on their own sensors. Fiix Asset Health needs Augury’s proprietary sensors, installed by Augury.[5]
Best fit
IoTFlowsUpKeepUpKeep - 05
One price for the whole team?
Maintain starts at $500 a month with unlimited users. Fiix prices per named user: $45 on Basic and $75 on Professional.[1]
Best fit
IoTFlows - 06
A production schedule, too?
Both schedule jobs on machines.[38] Fiix schedules maintenance work and technicians.[6]

Machine data
Minutes on the machine, not a PLC project
A SenseAi mounts on the outside of the machine and calibrates in under five minutes, with no PLC or controller access, so a 1987 press reports the same as a new CNC. Its downtimes, meters and health alerts open work orders in Maintain.

Why teams look
Why teams look past Fiix in its own words.
- Machine data is a project. App-exchange integrations start at $3k per plant a year plus $6k to implement, in as little as a week; FactoryTalk Optix stages total about 11 to 15 weeks and need Fiix Enterprise.[3],[7]
- Paid by the network. Optix costs $3,000 per network a year after an unpublished one-time charge, running on an on-site industrial PC.[3]
- Older machines are harder. “It can be more challenging … with older hardware that is less data-rich (or not producing data at all).”[3]
- Health from a partner. Asset Health needs Augury’s proprietary sensors, and Augury deploys them.[5]
- No OEE. Downtime is set by hand in the mobile app; no OEE or part counts were found in the product.[1],[4]
- Condition triggers on Enterprise. Condition-based maintenance triggers and failure codes are Enterprise only.[1]
When to stay: plants that already run Rockwell’s FactoryTalk and want a low per-user CMMS, with a free plan and month-to-month terms.[1],[8]

The machine opens the work order
A classified downtime, a machine event such as a health-score drop, or a meter at its trigger point opens the work order in Maintain, with the machine filled in. Parts are reserved when it opens and leave Inventory when it closes.
Price: Maintain from $500 a month, unlimited users, on top of machine monitoring; a SenseAi is $149 per machine, once.

How to pilot
Test an alternative on the machines you already run.
- The same assets, the same crew. Pick a line with a history of breakdowns, and the technicians who keep it running.
- Let the machines open the work. Count the work orders that opened from a downtime, a meter or a health alert, not from a phone call.
- Move the parts. Close each work order with the parts it used, and watch stock and reorders follow.
- Count the seats. Price the whole team at the end of the month: technicians, contractors and the people who raise requests.
An IoTFlows pilot runs on 10 to 25 machines for four weeks, with no commitment to buy.
Customer story
RNPSA halved its maintenance response time
RNPSA builds mining equipment in Matehuala, Mexico, on a fleet of critical precision machines. Today a problem on any of them reaches maintenance the moment an operator classifies the stop.
- 50%
- faster maintenance response
- Zero
- tool crashes that go unnoticed
- 100%
- of incidents on record
Challenge
A tool crash could go unnoticed until the next shift or the next inspection. When an operator did spot a problem, it passed from the shift supervisor to a note to the next shift before maintenance heard about it.
Solution
SenseAi watches every critical machine and records each shock. When an operator classifies a stop, they open the work order in the same step, and maintenance sees it at once with the machine, the time and the vibration data attached.
Products
SenseAi and Maintain.

“Add in Maintain, and suddenly operations and maintenance aren’t working in silos, we’re collaborating on the same data in real-time. That’s transformed how we manage these critical machines.”
Altium Packaging inspects the Slide Knife on its bottling lines every 100,000 bottles, with the work order opened by the count. Read the Altium Packaging story.
Questions people ask
It depends on how machine data should reach your work orders. IoTFlows runs Maintain and Inventory on the same platform as its own sensors, so downtimes, meters and health alerts open work orders, with OEE and a production scheduler, from $500 a month with unlimited users on top of machine monitoring. MaintainX, now part of Autodesk, is a phone-first CMMS with a free plan; UpKeep adds its own wireless Edge sensors; Limble connects partner sensors; Redzone sells a CMMS module inside a coached workforce platform.
Through OT integrations: app-exchange integrations from $3k per plant a year plus a $6k one-time implementation, completed in as little as a week, or Rockwell’s FactoryTalk Optix, which reads PLC tags over EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus TCP and other protocols from an on-site industrial PC, needs Fiix Enterprise, costs $3,000 per network a year after a one-time charge, and stages over about 11 to 15 weeks. Fiix says older, less data-rich equipment is harder. IoTFlows mounts its own sensor on the outside of any machine and calibrates it in under five minutes.
Fiix prices per named user: Free for limited users, Basic $45 and Professional $75 per user a month, Enterprise custom, month to month or annual. Basic includes unlimited parts and preventive maintenance, so 10 users come to $450 a month and 25 to $1,125. Condition triggers, Optix and Asset Health cost more on top. IoTFlows Maintain starts at $500 a month with unlimited users, on top of machine monitoring.
Through Fiix Asset Health, which needs Augury’s proprietary sensors, deployed by Augury. IoTFlows scores machine health on its own SenseAi Embedded, and a falling score can open a work order in Maintain.
Rockwell Automation; its acquisition of Fiix closed in December 2020, according to Fiix’s own news page.
A SenseAi attaches magnetically in seconds and calibrates in under five minutes, with no PLC project, so the machines report on day one, and a pilot runs on 10 to 25 machines for four weeks with no commitment to buy.
Each company is rated from 0 to 10 on ten criteria a maintenance team weighs (cost for 10 users, published pricing, work orders from machines, spare parts, production monitoring, machine health, production scheduling, own hardware, time to machine data, and setup and IT effort) on one written rubric, using only facts from its own website, docs and price pages. Your weights decide how much each rating counts: the score is the weighted average of the ratings, times ten.
