Why teams look
Why teams look past MaintainX in its own words.
- Priced per user. $20 a user on Essential and $65 on Premium, billed annually; parts inventory and meter-based maintenance start at Premium.[1]
- Machine data as an add-on. OT data connectors cost extra, on Premium and Enterprise, and the plant runs the OT hardware and software.[1],[2]
- Partner sensors. Its vibration sensors are ERBESSD’s PHANTOM, on Enterprise.[4],[5]
- Availability, not OEE. Its report calculates uptime over uptime plus downtime; no performance or quality term.[3]
- No production schedule. Its scheduling covers technicians and maintenance work.[6]
- Three weeks a site. “For the average customer, it takes three weeks to implement one site.”[1]
When to stay: teams that want a phone-first CMMS with a free plan, and requesters who never need a paid seat.[1],[8]

The machine opens the work order
A classified downtime, a machine event such as a health-score drop, or a meter at its trigger point opens the work order in Maintain, with the machine filled in. Parts are reserved when it opens and leave Inventory when it closes.
Price: Maintain from $500 a month, unlimited users, on top of machine monitoring; a SenseAi is $149 per machine, once.

How to pilot
Test an alternative on the machines you already run.
- The same assets, the same crew. Pick a line with a history of breakdowns, and the technicians who keep it running.
- Let the machines open the work. Count the work orders that opened from a downtime, a meter or a health alert, not from a phone call.
- Move the parts. Close each work order with the parts it used, and watch stock and reorders follow.
- Count the seats. Price the whole team at the end of the month: technicians, contractors and the people who raise requests.
An IoTFlows pilot runs on 10 to 25 machines for four weeks, with no commitment to buy.
Customer story
RNPSA halved its maintenance response time
RNPSA builds mining equipment in Matehuala, Mexico, on a fleet of critical precision machines. Today a problem on any of them reaches maintenance the moment an operator classifies the stop.
- 50%
- faster maintenance response
- Zero
- tool crashes that go unnoticed
- 100%
- of incidents on record
Challenge
A tool crash could go unnoticed until the next shift or the next inspection. When an operator did spot a problem, it passed from the shift supervisor to a note to the next shift before maintenance heard about it.
Solution
SenseAi watches every critical machine and records each shock. When an operator classifies a stop, they open the work order in the same step, and maintenance sees it at once with the machine, the time and the vibration data attached.
Products
SenseAi and Maintain.

“Add in Maintain, and suddenly operations and maintenance aren’t working in silos, we’re collaborating on the same data in real-time. That’s transformed how we manage these critical machines.”
Altium Packaging inspects the Slide Knife on its bottling lines every 100,000 bottles, with the work order opened by the count. Read the Altium Packaging story.
Questions people ask
It depends on how much of your maintenance should start from the machines. IoTFlows runs Maintain and Inventory on the same platform as its own sensors, so downtimes, meters and health alerts open work orders, from $500 a month with unlimited users on top of machine monitoring. UpKeep adds its own wireless Edge sensors to a per-user CMMS; Fiix, part of Rockwell Automation, publishes the lowest per-user price; Limble connects partner sensors; Redzone sells a CMMS module inside a coached workforce platform.
MaintainX prices per user: Basic is free, Essential $20 and Premium $65 per user a month on annual billing, Enterprise custom. Parts inventory and meter-based maintenance start at Premium, so 10 technicians come to $650 a month and 25 to $1,625; requesters are free. IoTFlows Maintain starts at $500 a month with unlimited users, on top of machine monitoring.
Through OT data connectors for Ignition, Kepware and MQTT, an add-on on Premium and Enterprise that the plant runs on its own OT hardware and software, and through partner integrations such as ERBESSD vibration sensors, Augury and MachineMetrics on Enterprise. IoTFlows puts its own sensor on the machine, and the downtime, the event or the meter opens the work order in Maintain.
Its availability report calculates uptime over uptime plus downtime, with no performance or quality term, and no OEE report was found on its pages. IoTFlows calculates OEE and counts parts from its own sensors, on the same platform as the work orders.
MaintainX’s About page says it is now part of Autodesk, in Autodesk Operations Solutions.
One backlog of work orders in list, table, Kanban and calendar views. Work orders open by hand, from a classified downtime, from a machine event rule such as a health-score drop, from a meter at its trigger point, or as a request from the floor. Preventive maintenance is a recurrence rule on the work order; meters count runtime hours or parts; parts are reserved when the order is raised and leave stock in Inventory when it is done. Maintain runs natively on iOS and Android.
A SenseAi attaches magnetically in seconds and calibrates in under five minutes, so the machines report on day one, and a pilot runs on 10 to 25 machines for four weeks with no commitment to buy.
Each company is rated from 0 to 10 on ten criteria a maintenance team weighs (cost for 10 users, published pricing, work orders from machines, spare parts, production monitoring, machine health, production scheduling, own hardware, time to machine data, and setup and IT effort) on one written rubric, using only facts from its own website, docs and price pages. Your weights decide how much each rating counts: the score is the weighted average of the ratings, times ten.
