The short answer
IoTFlows reads vibration, on a sensor it designs. Amper reads a current loop on the power source.
“Amper’s machine monitoring system uses a simple current loop sensor on the machine’s power source.” Amper, Fusion case study.[3]
Vibration tells you more than whether power is flowing: when each part is cut, when a pause is just a pause, and when a spindle starts to wear. Maintenance and spare parts run on the same platform, at prices you can see.

| Compared | IoTFlows | Amper by ECI |
|---|---|---|
| What the sensor reads | Vibration, on our own sensor | A current loop on the machine’s power source[3] |
| Who makes the hardware | Designed and built by IoTFlows, firmware and all | Not published on its own pages[5] |
| Machine health | A health score from SenseAi Embedded | No vibration or temperature sensor found[4] |
| Part counts | From the same sensor | Automated cycle counting[4] |
| Controller data | MTConnect, OPC UA and more, on Enterprise | PLC integration offered; no MTConnect, OPC UA or FOCAS named[4],[6] |
| Plant network | Not needed, on the 4G/LTE router | Not needed: encrypted cellular[4] |
| Maintenance work orders | Built in (Maintain) | Add-on module: tickets from machine data, run-hour PM[4],[5] |
| Spare-parts inventory | Built in | No module found[4] |
| Production scheduling | Add-on Production Scheduler, from $1,500 a month | Add-on module, with what-if simulations[4],[5] |
| ERP | CSV or Excel import; two-way connectors on Enterprise | ERP integrations on every plan[5] |
| Alerts | Email, SMS, push, Slack, Teams, webhooks | Phone or email[4] |
| Prices on its website | $119 per machine a month, less on longer terms | A custom quote[1] |
| Hardware price | $149 per machine, once | Inside the quote, not published[1] |
| Pilot | 10–25 machines for 4 weeks, no commitment to buy | A 2-machine trial; a pilot asks for an executive sponsor and plans for 25+ machines[2] |
Machine health
Know a spindle is wearing before it fails
SenseAi Embedded scores each machine’s health against its own healthy baseline, and a falling score can alert your team and open a work order before the part fails.
Hardware
Built, not bought
We design SenseAi, SenseAi Embedded and BeamTracker ourselves: the electronics, the housing and every line of firmware, so we know exactly what each device can do. It decides when a machine runs, filters short pauses at the machine, and gets better with every signed update.
A kit assembled from other makers’ boxes runs firmware from several companies. Every box is one more thing to set up, update and fail, and no one owns the whole chain.
Maintenance and parts
The stop, the work order and the part. One system.
A stop, an alarm or a meter opens the work order in Maintain. Close it, and the parts leave stock.
Controller data
Want the control’s data too? Add it.
On Enterprise, the IoTFlows edge device reads controls and PLCs over MTConnect, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet and MQTT, and alarms feed the same rules as the sensors. Live in one week to a month, priced by scope.

Customer story
MiRus raised efficiency over 20% and sees the cost of every job
MiRus makes implants for the spine, the heart and the extremities in Marietta, Georgia. Its machines report live to IoTFlows, and every Epicor job comes back with the machining and labor hours behind it.
- 20%+
- higher efficiency
- ~1 month
- to a live Epicor connector
- Every job
- tied to its machining and labor hours
Challenge
The real cost of a job, in machine hours and labor hours, was hard to get, if it could be had at all, from the ERP alone. Productivity on the floor only showed up after the fact.
Solution
SenseAi and SenseAi Embedded show every machine’s productivity live, so problems get solved sooner. A two-way Epicor connector, live in about a month, pulls every job and ties it to the machining and labor hours it took.
Products

“The real-time visibility has been amazing for optimizing our operations. With the ERP integration, I see the numbers and where every job stands, without digging for them in our ERP.”
Jesel answers machine issues in seconds or minutes, down from hours or days, with SenseAi on every CNC machine.
Questions people ask
Both monitor machines without a PLC and can stay off the plant network. Amper, now part of ECI, uses a current loop sensor on the machine’s power source and prices by custom quote. IoTFlows designs its own sensor, which reads vibration: it counts parts, filters short stops and, on SenseAi Embedded, scores machine health. IoTFlows publishes its prices, includes maintenance work orders and spare-parts inventory, and runs pilots on 10 to 25 machines for four weeks with no commitment to buy.
Yes. This page compares Amper machine monitoring, the product ECI Software Solutions announced it had acquired on December 9, 2025. Its pages now live on ecisolutions.com, and amper.xyz redirects there.
Its own pages describe a current loop sensor on the machine’s power source and name no vibration or temperature sensor. SenseAi Embedded reads vibration and scores each machine’s health against its own healthy baseline, and a health alert can open a work order in Maintain.
Amper’s pricing page publishes no price: it is a custom quote that includes hardware, onboarding, training and support. IoTFlows publishes its prices: SenseAi is $149 per machine, once, and Pro is $119 per machine a month billed monthly, less on annual and three-year terms. For 10 machines on an annual plan paid upfront, the first year comes to about $12,182 with the sensors.
Amper’s free trial validates hardware on 2 machines, and its pilot asks for an executive sponsor, a project owner and interest in scaling to 25+ machines if the pilot succeeds. An IoTFlows pilot runs on 10 to 25 machines for four weeks with no commitment to buy, on the same sensors and dashboard you would keep afterwards.
Yes. Maintain opens a work order from a downtime, a machine event, a meter or a request from the floor, and Inventory tracks the spare parts, which leave stock when the work order closes. Amper sells maintenance management as an add-on module, and no inventory module was found on its pages.
Yes, on Enterprise. The IoTFlows edge device reads controls and PLCs over MTConnect, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet and MQTT, and IoTFlows writes the driver when one is missing. Amper offers PLC integration; its pages name no MTConnect, OPC UA or FOCAS option.
Yes. The sensor mounts on the outside of the machine and needs no connection to the control, the PLC or the electrical cabinet, and on the 4G/LTE router it stays off the plant network.
